Trail notes
The Rubicon is the standard against which every hard trail is measured: a granite gauntlet from Loon Lake to Lake Tahoe where the 'road' is often just a line of dents in the slickrock. The Gatekeeper, Little Sluice, Big Sluice, and Cadillac Hill each demand lockers, 35s, and patience; Rubicon Springs in between is the best trail camp in the country. Two days minimum, buddy vehicle strongly advised.
