Trail notes
The Rimrocker is the rare long route that's actually signed the whole way: 160 miles from Montrose, Colorado over the 9,000-foot Uncompahgre Plateau, through the Paradox Valley's uranium-boom backroads, around the La Sals, and down into Moab. Nothing on it is technical in dry weather, which makes it the catalog's best first multi-day trip: the challenges are distance, weather on the plateau, and the 100-mile stretch past Nucla with no services.
